Composite-Housed Metal Oxide Lightning Arresters

ZTT / Jiangdong industrialised the 10–220 kV power-station-type composite-coat metal-oxide arrester in 2017. The arresters use a metal-oxide (MOV) block stack inside a silicone-rubber composite housing built with the same materials and processes as ZTT's composite insulators — high-strength epoxy resin glass fiber tube, advanced silicone rubber shed formula, labyrinth waterproof interfaces and 100% ultrasonic testing on the core.

Composite-Housed Metal Oxide Lightning Arresters — ZTT power infrastructure fitting

Features & Characteristics

  • Metal-oxide (MOV) block stack in a composite silicone-rubber housing.
  • Voltage range 10 kV to 220 kV — industrialised 2017.
  • Same silicone rubber and core-rod technology as ZTT composite insulators.
  • Labyrinth waterproof end-fitting interface and ultrasonic-tested core.

Applications

  • Overvoltage protection at 10 – 220 kV power stations and substations.
  • Overhead line surge protection on distribution and sub-transmission systems.
  • Retrofit projects replacing porcelain-housed arresters.
