ZTT Wedge Clamp

The ZTT wedge clamp is a non-compression tension / dead-end clamp that grips the conductor with a wedge mechanism, eliminating the need to cut the conductor during installation. It provides sufficient mechanical strength while avoiding the additional contact resistance normally introduced by compression-type clamps.

ZTT Wedge Clamp — ZTT power infrastructure fitting

Features & Characteristics

  • Non-compression clamp — no need to cut off the conductor.
  • Energy-saving clamp — no increase in contact resistance across the joint.
  • Wedge type clamp geometry providing sufficient mechanical strength.
  • Suitable for tension and dead-end applications on overhead lines.

Applications

  • Tension and dead-end terminations on overhead transmission and distribution lines.
  • Refurbishment projects where cutting the conductor is undesirable.
  • Energy-loss-critical lines where contact-resistance-free jointing is required.
